About Riverable
Riverable was created to solve a universal question among tubers, kayakers, canoeists, and fly fishermen: "Is the river flowing right today, or will we scrape bottom?"
Our Open Data Stack
We synthesize live data from trusted public and scientific organizations:
- USGS Water Services (NWIS): Real-time discharge (CFS), gauge height stage, and water temperature telemetry across thousands of US streamflow monitoring stations.
- Open-Meteo: High-resolution atmospheric forecasts, air temperature, wind velocity, and trailing watershed precipitation accumulation.
- OpenStreetMap (Overpass API): Public boat ramps, canoe put-ins, egress take-outs, and livery rentals.
- RainViewer: Live Doppler weather radar composite overlays.
